For days we watched a big fat bud in our pond, and wondered when it would pop. We have 2 types of water lilies in the pond, and the one variety has been blooming for a few weeks. The buds stay tightly furled until late in the day, and then they pop open for a few hours, and close early. Nice work if you can find it.
But the large bud on the larger lily was wide open this morning. Truly spectacular.
