What is this I see….

It was fun to wake Friday morning and see this:

Where we live, we only get about 7 inches of snow average a year. So that means some years, and for many years in a row, we could get none. And once, we got 23 inches in a 12 hour period. It never fails to delight though.

I thought earlier that this might be a hard winter. The geese seemed to fly off earlier, and we have certainly had colder temps and earlier freeze than normal. In fact, we had our killing frost early, and this week, have awakened to mornings of 15 and 18 degrees.

But the white stuff is always a treat.. even if in November… wonder what February will bring this year?

Off to work by the fire. At lunchtime today, it is still only 34 degrees!

  1. Winter is here for us. It has only gotten up to 17 today and is very windy. I wanted to make a moss garden with the kids today and they refused–too cold!

  2. You have about the same amount of snow on the ground that we have here in the southern tier of New York. A couple hours north of us, is a different story.
