I am often inspired when I read Ann Voskamp’s site: A Holy Experience. And this year, I felt a tugging in my heart as she wrote about her Compassion Child. When it came to the holidays and we sat down to talk charitable contributions, it occurred to me that for someone who wanted more children, this would be a way to make another connection.
So we decided to “adopt” a child from another country – not so much to come live with us, but to sponsor them and help make their life better. The middle and youngest child really got into trying to decide which child to sponsor… so many children needing so many things. We finally decided on a young boy from Africa, and look forward to sending him letters and support.
Compassion International gets high marks from those that review charities, so we hope this child has a better life through their work.
